Line of thunderstorms could rumble through west central Minnesota this afternoon

WILLMAR -- Residents in West Central Minnesota should pay attention to the potential for thunderstorms later today, according to the National Weather Service in Chanhassen.

An approaching front is expected to trigger storms along a line east of Little Falls to Redwood Falls, most likely after 4 p.m. and before 7 p.m. Some of the storms could be severe and capable of damaging winds, hail and heavy rains. An isolated tornado is possible too.

It will remain hot and humid through much of the day with a high of 85 degrees expected. A northwest breeze, sunny skies and less humidity with a high of 82 degrees is forecast for Saturday.
