Litchfield man airlifted after cycle-deer crash
LITCHFIELD -- A 58-year-old Litchfield man was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in a motorcycle-deer crash around 8 p.m. Tuesday near Litchfield.

According to Meeker County Sheriff Jeff Norlin, Gerald Janey was eastbound on County Road 1 on a 2006 Harley Davidson cycle when he struck a deer, lost control and crashed. He was transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later transported by helicopter to HCMC.
Also responding were personnel from the Litchfield police, rescue and fire departments.
The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
