Volunteer shifts are still available on all days, May 1 – 5. Anyone interested in volunteering with the build that haven’t already signed up are encouraged to show up on-site at Memorial Park by the Lake Ripley swimming beach during any shift and volunteer coordinators will assist in finding a place for you, or you can still sign up online at lcbp.weebly.com. No special skills are necessary to help.

Daily build shifts are as follows:  8 a.m. – 12 p.m., 12:30 – 5 p.m. and 5:30 – 9 p.m. with breaks in between for meals. Food and snacks will be available for volunteers. Individuals may sign up for as many shifts as they’d like. Children ages 10-13 may work next to their parents on-site; youth ages 14-17 may work on crews without parents. Free off-site childcare/children’s activities are available for volunteers with children under age 10, contact the LCBP Committee at playground.committee@yahoo.com or by calling volunteer coordinator Joan Olson at 320-693-5502 if you would like to volunteer and need childcare for your shift(s).

An Opening Celebration will be held on Sunday, May 5th at 6:30 p.m. at the playground site to recognize all the hard work and support of the community and get a first glimpse of the playground in its final stages. Root beer floats and ice cream will be served and all are welcome to attend.

For more information on the playground project or volunteering, visit lcbp.weebly.com or contact the committee at playground.committee@yahoo.com.
