DAWSON -- Lloyd Albert Dahl, 90, of Dawson, died Thursday at the Madison Hospital in Madison.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson.

He was born Oct. 3, 1918, in Providence Township, rural Dawson, to Albert John and Minnie Mathilda (Dahlgren) Dahl. He attended country school for eight years and graduated from Canby High School in 1935.

He married Louise Olive Hart on Dec. 24, 1935, in Clear Lake, S.D. They lived in Garfield, Providence and Maxwell townships, and in 1988, moved into Dawson. For several years, they summered on Big Stone Lake, Ortonville, and wintered in Mesa, Ariz. They entered the Madison Lutheran Home on Feb. 17, 2009.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson and Dawson Senior Citizens. While in Arizona, he was the pitcher for the Orangewood Shadows Softball Team.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters: Geraldyne (and Marv) Turner of Dawson and Joanne (and Larris) Nelson of Canby; son-in-law: Jerome (and Elaine) Bergeson of Dawson; eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and a brother: Harris (and Marion) Dahl of Canby.

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Darlene Bergeson, on Jan. 13, 1998; a son-in-law: Paul G. Nelson, on June 25, 1991; and a brother.
