LAKEVILLE - Lorraine M. Himango, 87, of Lakeville, formerly of Willmar, died Monday, November 18th at United Hospital in St. Paul. Her funeral will be 11:00 am, Friday, November 21st at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Thursday at the funeral home and continue one hour prior to the service on Friday. www.hafh.org
Lorraine, the daughter of Louis and Martha (Zygmanski) Parenteau, was born in Duluth, Minnestoa, on October 4, 1926. Following graduation from Morgan Park High School in Duluth, Lorraine worked as a bookkeeper for the Kelley - How - Thompson Company until her marriage. On September 15, 1951, she was united in marriage to Marvin Himango at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Morgan Park. They lived in Hastings, MN for 40 years where Marvin taught vocational agriculture. While living in Hastings, Lorraine was active in church activities, Regina Hospital Auxiliary, Girl Scouts and the Hastings Woman's Club.
They moved to Willmar in 1995 where she was a member of Willmar Assembly of God and Senior Citizens.
In March 2013, Lorraine moved to Lakeville MN, where she resided at The Fountains of Hosanna Assisted Living until the time of her death.
Lorraine's greatest joys were spending time with family and friends and being a faithful servant to her Lord.
Surviving are her children, Robert (and Jacquelyn) Himango of Monticello,IL; Mary Beth (and Jeff) Potter of Redwood Falls; five grandchildren, Jesse (and Samantha) Himango; Judah (and Kristin) Himango; Aaron (and Hanah) Himango; Michaela Himango; and Nicolette (and Will) Hermanson; seven great grandchildren, Connor; Laila; Rachel; Kess; Rahhel; David; and Devany. Also surviving are her brothers, Louis Parenteau of Virginia, MN; Jerome (and Marilee) Parenteau of Superior, WI; Robert (and Christine) Parenteau of Duluth and sister, Mary (and Ray) Johnson of Crosby; sister-in-law, Martha Parenteau of Duluth and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two dear friends, David and Christa Rivers of Willmar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marvin on January 2, 1999; brother, Kenneth; sister, Kathleen Stewart and son-in-law, James Collier.
