STARBUCK -- Lorraine Amanda Winkelman, 89, of Starbuck, died Tuesday at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck. Burial will be in Appleton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by Starbuck Funeral Home. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
She was born Jan. 28, 1920, in Fairfield Township to Louis and Amanda (Mesenbrink) Melchert.
She married Henry Winkelman on Jan. 5, 1938, and they farmed in Moyer Township. They operated the Red and White grocery store in Benson, and then the Super Valu grocery store in Appleton. They also worked at Orton's Our Own Hardware store in Appleton. Henry died in 1980. She moved to Starbuck in 1992.
She is survived by her son-in-law: Eddie (and Millie) Spohr of Apple Valley, Calif.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter: Karen; and seven siblings.
