Low wind chills will continue across west central Minnesota this morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory until noon for most of west central Minnesota. This includes areas west of Willmar, including Alexandria, Appleton, Benson, Madison, Montevideo and Morris.
Wind chills of 25 to 35 below have been observed early this morning in much of west central Minnesota. The combination of subzero temperatures and increasing southerly winds will continue to provide low win chills of 25 to 35 below across the region through this morning.
As temperatures rise further by the afternoon, the wind chills dangers will ease slightly.
Individuals are reminded to wear a hat and glove when venturing outdoors today. Low win chills can lead to frost bite and/or hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
Snow will spread southeast across central Minnesota tonight ahead of an Alberta Clipper system moving in. Snow accumulations of up to an inch are possible along and north of the Interstate 94 corridor, which may make for a slippery Monday morning commute.
Snow will continue for a time on Monday, especially along and north of Interstate 94. Accumulations are expected to be less than an inch.
