LITCHFIELD -- Lucille Escen, 96, of Litchfield died Thursday at the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Burial will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and for one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
She was born June 6, 1912, in Litchfield to Andrew and Ingrid (Person Johnson) Anderson. She grew up and received her education in Litchfield, graduating from Litchfield High School in 1931. She worked at the Litchfield Woolen Mills before moving to Oakland, Calif.
She married Adolph Escen on June 3, 1939, in Oakland. They returned to the Litchfield area.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children: Sylvia (and Philip) Holtz of Cottage Grove and Paul Escen of New Brighton; a daughter-in-law: Veronica Escen of Litchfield; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons: Robert and Richard; infant daughter: Mary Lou; one brother; and two sisters.
