Lucille Lilleberg Sept. 27, 1922 - Aug. 27, 2009
ATWATER -- Lucille Erna Lilleberg, 86, of Atwater, died Thursday at the Lakeview Ranch in Darwin.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church, rural Atwater. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Lakeview Ranch Dementia Foundation.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Atwater Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
She was born Sept. 27, 1922, on the family farm in Edwards Township, Kandiyohi County, to James and Alvina (Kalkbrenner) Denton. She grew up in the Raymond area and graduated from Raymond High School in 1942.
She married Bernie Lilleberg on Nov. 8, 1942. They lived east of Raymond. In 1944 they purchased the farm in Harrison Township, north of Atwater. She worked from 1942 to 1944 at J.C. Penney Company in Willmar as head cashier. They retired from full-time farming in 1993 but continued to help their son, Stan. They moved to Sunnyview Assisted Living in Atwater in December 1999, and in January of 2008 they moved to the Lakeview Ranch in Darwin.
She was active in St. John Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid.
She is survived by her husband; three sons: Stan (and Barbara) Lilleberg of Atwater, Jim (and MaryLee) Lilleberg of Fargo, N.D., and Jon (and Andrea) Lilleberg of Maple Grove; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and son-in-law: Brian Kohn of Duluth.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Terri Jean; daughter: Barbara Ann Kohn in 2006; one brother; and one sister.
