OLIVIA -- Ludie Aurora Mammen, 82, of Olivia died Monday at the Golden Living Center in Olivia.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cross of Calvary Lutheran Church in Olivia. Private family burial will be in Sunset Cemetery at Montevideo.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia.
She was born Oct. 13, 1925, in Navarro County, Texas, to Albert and Lillie (Burnett) Edmonds. She graduated from Pampa High School in Pampa, Texas.
She married Merle Mammen on Nov. 19, 1944, in Lubbock, Texas. Over the years, she lived in Redwood Falls, Appleton, Montevideo, Bird Island and Olivia. She was a member of both the VFW and American Legion ladies auxiliaries and her Bible study group at Cross of Calvary. She had been the director of ACTS for many years, retiring in 1997, and was the founder of Camp Joy for the mentally challenged. She moved into the Golden Living Center nine months ago.
She is survived by her children: Ben (and Deborah) Mammen of Morton, Merlene (and Darnell) Bratsch of Danube, Aundria (and Tim) Manuel of Willmar, and Cindy Tyo of Yorba Linda, Calif.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and special friend Harvey Nelson of Olivia.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son-in-law: David Tyo; and one brother.
