APPLETON -- Luella Delphine Friedrich, 91, of St. James, formerly of Appleton, died Saturday at St. James.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Burial will be in the Appleton City Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangments are with Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton.
She was born June 24, 1918, at Hegbert Township, Swift County, to Emil and Annie (Glimsdal) Swenson. She grew up in the Drywood area.
She married Herbert Friedrich on Sept. 10, 1936, in Holloway. They farmed north of Milan for 22 years. They moved into Appleton in 1962 and she worked at the Appleton Municipal Nursing Home until she retired. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Appleton where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was involved with the women's missionary society. She moved to Pleasant View Apartments in Appleton and then to Pleasant View-Good Samaritan Nursing Home in St. James in 2002.
She is survived by four sons: Jerry (and Betty) Friedrich of Hutchinson, Richard (and Sandi) Friedrich of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Glen (and Eileen) Friedrich of St. James and Wayne (and Jane) Friedrich of Spicer; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister: Eleanor Friedrich of Appleton.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992, one sister and three brothers.
