MONTEVIDEO -- LuVerne Anna Ulricka Bornus, 86, of Montevideo, died Saturday at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Baxter in rural Montevideo. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are by Anderson Funeral Home of Montevideo.
She was born April 18, 1922, in Augusta Township, Lac qui Parle County, to Emil and Erna (Redepenning) Heyer. She attended Nassau Public School and graduated from Marietta High School in 1940.
On Sept. 18, 1950, she married Milford Bornus in Montevideo. They lived and farmed in Baxter Township until she moved into Montevideo in 2003. She had been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home for the past three years.
She was a longtime member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Baxter and was involved in the church women's groups.
She is survived by six children: Gayle (and Stewart) Dansby of Clara City, Corliss (and Donald) Alstad of Hopkins, Brian (and Linda) Schliep of Stillwater, Lana (and Gaylon) Entgelmeier of Cottage Grove, Lori Walburg of Eden Prairie and Loretta (and Dave) Moore of Coon Rapids; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003.
