BUFFALO LAKE -- Lyle Melvin Baysinger, 84, of Buffalo Lake, died Wednesday at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake.
Burial will be in Zion Evangelical Cemetery in Preston Lake Township.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was born July 19, 1924, on a farm near Buffalo Lake to Vern and Mildred (Mick) Baysinger. He attended country school at Lake Preston near Stewart.
He married Edna Weispfennig on April 14, 1944, in Hector. They lived in Stewart, New Mexico, Michigan and Buffalo Lake. He was employed as a farmhand, milk hauler, heavy equipment operator and built roads for many construction companies, operated drag lines, and helped to build a dam. He owned and operated a garage and worked as a mechanic for the Buffalo Lake Elevator until his retirement in 1987. He owned and operated a car wash and laundromat for many years. He was a member of the Methodist Church where he was a trustee and on the cemetery board. He was a member of the Buffalo Lake Rod and Gun Club and the Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife; sons: Bradley (and Donna) Baysinger of Hutchinson, Roger (and Zelda) Baysinger of Buffalo Lake and Allen (and Robin) Baysinger of Buffalo Lake; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and brother: Duane (and Phyllis) Baysinger of Hector.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
