GLENWOOD -- Lynn Kay Thomsen, 69, of Glenwood, died unexpectedly Saturday at her home.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Lutheran Church. Inurnment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
She was born July 18, 1939, in Wheaton to Dale and Thelma (Cumming) Strong. She grew up in Glenwood and graduated from Glenwood High School.
She worked at Ridgewood Villa in Glenwood for 17 years.
She was active at Glenwood Lutheran Church, serving on a cluster, singing in the senior choir, teaching Sunday school, serving on the altar guild and helping with lutefisk and meatball suppers. She was a Girl Scout leader, served on the hospital board, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Birthday Club and the card club on Wednesdays.
She is survived by her daughters: Vicki Thomsen of Glenwood, Joyce (and Scott) McGillivray of Kandiyohi, and Jackie Johnson of Alexandria; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister: Judie Bouta of Hawaii; and a brother: Jerry Strong of Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren and one brother.
