MACCRAY tops KMS to earn title in Camden

CLARA CITY -- With the help of 27 points from Shaun Condon, MACCRAY captured the Camden North Conference boys basketball title outright by beating Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 91-64 Thursday.

MACCRAY (12-0, 18-0) scored the first 11 points on three consecutive three-pointers and a basket. Four of the Wolverine's first five baskets were from behind the arc.

In the second half, MACCRAY went on an 11-2 run to stretch a 12-point lead at halftime to 60-39. The Wolverines exploded for 53 points in the second half with 17 coming from Condon, who sat out the final nine minutes of the first half due to foul trouble.

Seth Hinrichs added 16 points, Tyler Dammann and Darrin Caspers had 12 apiece and Caleb Hanson 10 for MACCRAY, which is one of only six boys teams in the state that are still unbeaten.

KMS (9-4, 14-6) got 16 points from Taylor Freetly and 13 more each from Adam Miller and Joey Bauman.
