Mae Adeline Seeland

NEW LONDON - Mae Adeline Seeland was born on January 19, 1925 in Irving Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Alvin and Myrtle (Hanson) Hagen. Mae graduated from New London High School and for a short while worked for the local phone company and the Willmar hospital.
Mae was united in marriage to Kenneth Seeland on September 5, 1946 at Nordland Lutheran Church. They were blessed with five sons, whom they raised on the family farm. She was a devoted wife and mother and an active member of Nordland Lutheran Church.
She loved to quilt and sew. She made beautiful pieces of Hardanger embroidery. The family looked forward to the lefse, krumkake and other Norwegian sweets she enjoyed making. Together, Mae and Kenneth liked to travel to many places, including Norway, Israel and Spain.
Mae passed away peacefully the evening of January 12th, 2013 at Koronis Manner at the age of 87. She is survived by her sons Michael (Susan), Klayton, Kevin (Cora) and Meldon (Tina); grandchildren Anders (Elizabeth), Stacy (Kiply), Kelsey, Heidi, Amanda and Jeremy (Kimberly) (mother, Monica), Amy, Kirsten and Maren; and great-grandchild Caleb.
Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, her infant son, Charles; her parents; and brother, Myron and sister, Burnette.
Services will be held at Nordland Lutheran Church on January 20, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 1:00.
