MONTEVIDEO -- Mae Nora Saue, 94, of Montevideo, died Thursday at the Clara City Care Center.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., and for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
She was born Nov. 27, 1913, in Montevideo to Andrew and Rena (Pederson) Saue. She attended Montevideo Schools. She worked in sales, starting at Henry Pitts' Jewelry Store for two years. She joined the Montgomery Ward Company in 1936 and held various positions in the Fashion Department, including as a fashion sponsor for the district area for 33 years. When the Wards store closed in 1968, she went to work for Wilson's Men's Clothing Store until she retired 14 years later in 1982. She also cared for her mother until Rena became a resident of Luther Haven Nursing Home in 1972. Mae moved to Brookside Manor when her health began to fail and then moved to the Clara City Care Center in 2003.
She was involved in many community organizations including the Degree of Honor, American Legion Auxiliary, Business and Professional Women's Club, the Women's Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and volunteered with the blood drive. She was a lifetime member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and was active in her church circle, was a Sunday School teacher and a visitor with the Agape Group. She was a member of the Senior Advisory Committee, and after retirement she volunteered for 14 years at Luther Haven Nursing Home with the bingo games.
She is survived by her niece: Donna (and James) Meisner of Montevideo; and other relatives.
