GLENWOOD -- Malcolm Lewis Shomshor, 80, of Glenwood, died Saturday at the Glenwood Retirement Village.
Private family services will be at a later date, with inurnment in Lake Amelia Cemetery, Villard.
Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.
He was born March 25, 1929, in rural Scribner, Neb., to Charles and Hilda (Steinke) Shomshor. He grew up on a farm near Scribner. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean War.
He married Dorothy Caubarrus on April 6, 1957. They farmed near Grove City. Two years later they purchased a farm southeast of Villard, where they farmed for 38 years until 1996 when they retired to Glenwood. He had entered the Glenwood Retirement Village this past January.
He is survived by his wife; son: Ronald (and Shirley) Shomshor of St. Peter; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
