WILLMAR -- Willmar Police are working on identifying the driver of a pickup that crashed into a tree around 10 p.m. Wednesday along U.S. Highway 12.

According to the crash report, the man was driving a 2000 Chevy Silverado westbound on the highway, left the roadway and crashed into a tree at the intersection with Fifth Street Southwest.

The man sustained head injuries and was taken by Willmar Ambulance Service to Rice Memorial Hospital and then airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center.

The man was alone in the vehicle and was not wearing his seat belt.
