Man flees Starbuck Police, Pope County, Minn., deputies after attempted arrest

STARBUCK -- A 38-year-old man was arrested for fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle after he led two Starbuck Police officers and five Pope County Sheriff's deputies on a high-speed chase late Wednesday afternoon.

According to a news release from the Starbuck Police Department, an officer saw Kevin Richard Lopez around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at a gas station in that city. The officer knew Lopez was wanted on a Department of Corrections warrant.

After he was told he was under arrest, Lopez allegedly got back into his vehicle and fled north out of Starbuck. The ensuing pursuit continued for 15 miles at high speeds before Lopez was stopped and arrested. His vehicle was towed.
