Man killed in snowmobile crash in Stearns County, Minn.

MELROSE — A 33-year-old Grey Eagle man was pronounced dead at Melrose Hospital Monday evening after he was injured in a snowmobile crash north of Melrose.

According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, the crash was reported around 8:20 p.m. along Hartnette Lake Road. The caller reported the man had struck a tree.

The name of the man is being withheld pending the notification of relatives. He was the only occupant of the snowmobile and was wearing a helmet. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.

Also responding were the Melrose police, fire, rescue and ambulance crews and the State Patrol.
