Man pleads to drug sale charge for pot delivered to his house
Willmar Minnesota 2208 Trott Ave. SW / P.O. Box 839 56201

WILLMAR -- Juan Lomas Jr., 28, of Willmar, pleaded guilty Thursday to a third-degree drug sale charge for accepting the delivery on Aug. 23 of more than 11 pounds of marijuana to his home.

He will be sentenced Feb. 14 in Kandiyohi County District Court.

The box was quickly confiscated when CEE-VI Drug Task Force agents served a search warrant at the residence.

According to the complaint, CEEVI agents were notified Aug. 20 by the United States Postal Service that there was a package en route to Lomas and that it contained about 11.8 pounds of marijuana.

A controlled delivery was arranged and a postal inspector delivered the package at 1:07 p.m. Aug. 23. The man who accepted the package was later identified as Lomas.

Agents served a search warrant on the home at 1:35 p.m. and found $3,429 of cash on Lomas. The parcel was located in a bedroom.

When interviewed, by law enforcement, Lomas admitted to ordering and receiving the marijuana and to selling the drug in the past. There was evidence of marijuana sales from the home, including scales with marijuana residue, numerous bags and plastic wraps and a message on his cell phone from a person wanting to buy "bud."
