Man shot at Fargo cinema; bullet enters theater

FARGO, N.D. -- At least one male was shot and another was injured outside the south side of West Acres Cinema around 4:15 p.m. Sunday in Fargo. Police Lt. Joel Vettel confirmed the victims were taken to Essentia Health for treatment.

One of the victims was shot in the torso and the other suffered a head injury,

Police arrived on scene about 4:20 p.m., and a male person of interest was apprehended about an hour later in the Horace area with the help of Cass County deputies and West Fargo police.

At least one bullet entered the theater, but no one was injured inside. The bullet hole could be seen from the outside in the one of the theater's windows.

Police say the suspect and the shooting victims knew each other, but authorities don't believe the incident was gang-related.

Vettel said at least two bullets were shot. Police confiscated a weapon, a handgun, but gave no description of it.

Police have not yet released the names of the victims or the suspect.
