Marcella E. Ourada June 24, 1923 - April 18, 2009

REDWOOD FALLS -- Marcella E. Ourada, 85, of Wabasso, formerly of Lucan, died Saturday at Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso. Burial will be in St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service at the church and one hour before the service at the church. The Redwood Valley Funeral Home of Redwood Falls is handling arrangements.

She was born June 24, 1923, on the family farm in Renville County to Peter and Rose (Moudry) Wacek. She graduated from her Danube High School.

She married Francis Ourada on July 30, 1945, in Olivia. They lived in San Diego for two years before moving to the farm of her father-in-law where they farmed from 1947 to 1952. They moved to farm near Lucan. They moved to Wabasso in 1978 where she lived until 2008. She worked at the Wabasso Nursing Home for 17 years as a medical assistant. She was a long-time member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan and St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso where she was active in the CCW. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children: John (and Linda) of Salina, Kansas, Jerome of Marshall, Jim (and Mona) of Vesta, Ron (and Barb) of Fargo, N.D., Terry (and Laurie) of Lucan, Lyle (and Rose) of Coraopolis, Penn., David (and Judy) of Lucan, and Sharon (and Art) Price of Mankato; one daughter-in-law: Tammy Ourada of Marana, Ariz.; 40 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a twin sister: Marie Stowers of California.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son: Alan; one grandson; and four brothers.
