Marcus Construction honored with safety award
WILLMAR — The Minnesota Safety Council has awarded a Governor’s Safety Award to Marcus Construction of Willmar for superior performance in workplace safety and health. Marcus Construction is one of 227 employers who will be recognized at the Governor’s Safety Awards luncheon Thursday at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
“I am incredibly proud of our employees to have earned the Governor’s Safety Award,” said Ross Marcus, CEO of Marcus Construction. “This is not an award that is just given out. It truly is earned and speaks highly of our uncompromising safety practices that our safety director, Wayne DeVoe, works tirelessly on training our team. Our biggest asset is our employees so our commitment to our safety program will only continue to grow stronger.”
Since 1934, the annual Governor’s Safety Awards program has honored Minnesota employers with exceptional safety performance. Applicants are judged on several years of injury data compared with industry’s national statistics, and on progress in implementing a comprehensive safety program.
