DANUBE -- Margaret Marie Braun, 77, of Danube died Friday at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia.
She was born Sept. 5, 1931, in rural Olivia to John and Irene (Knisley) Buchtel. She graduated from Olivia High School in 1949.
She married Joe Braun on July 27, 1950, in Olivia. They lived near Danube. She a homemaker and worked on the farm. They operated JB Tours for 10 years.
She was a lifelong member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and was active in the CCW. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies group.
She is survived by husband; three children: Pat Zuhlsdorf of Olivia, Gary (and Lois) Braun of Woodbury and Kevin (and Bonnie) Braun of Danube; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; a sister: Jan Thortsen of Spicer; and a brother: Jerry (and Quin) Buchtel of Olivia.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Richard Zuhlsdorf.
