Margaret A. 'Peg' Proeschel

WILLMAR -- Margaret Anna "Peg" Proeschel, 99, of Willmar died Sept. 22 at Bethesda Pleasantview Nursing Home in Willmar.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. Private burial will be at Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Arrangements are by Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Memorials are preferred to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Rice Hospice.
She was born April 13, 1909, in Staples to Frank and Minnie (Haworth) Starbuck. She grew up in Staples, and she moved to Minneapolis to live with her sister, Marie, in 1923. She attended North High School in Minneapolis and continued her education at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing where she received her nursing degree.
She married Dr. Ray K. Proeschel on June 18, 1935, in Milbank, S.D. They moved to Kimball where he practiced for one year, and in 1937 they moved to Willmar where Ray practiced medicine until 1977. They spent three years in Spokane, Wash., at Fort George Wright from 1942 to 1945 during World War II. She lived in her home for 60 years and then moved to Sunrise Apartments and then assisted living before moving into Pleasantview Nursing Home.
She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Beaux Arts Study Club, Hospital Auxiliary, Medical Auxiliary and PTA.
She is survived by her children: Jack (and Connie) Proeschel of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Mary Jo Luce (and Dr. Helmut Hoffmann) of Spicer, Elizabeth (and Peter) Wold of Bloomington and Mark (and Donna) Proeschel of Maquoketa, Iowa; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and three sisters.
