Marian Mae Norby March 2, 1933 - Jan. 27, 2013
CLEAR LAKE - Marian Mae Norby, 79, of Clear Lake, formerly of Willmar, died Sunday, January 27th at St. Benedicts Senior Care Center in St. Cloud. Her funeral will be 10:00 am, Saturday, February 2nd, at Green Lake Lutheran Church, rural Spicer. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 pm at Johnson Funeral Home in New London and continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. www.hafh.org
Marian was born on March 2, 1933, in Burbank Townships, near Georgeville, Minnesota, the daughter of Cornelius Neal and Jennie (Sikkink) Roos. She attended Georgeville and Belgrade Schools. After she finished her schooling, she worked as a nanny on the Allen Hanson family farm in the Glenwood area where she met her husband to be, Gislee.
On November 28, 1953, she was united in marriage to Gislee Gerhard Norby in Glenwood, Minnesota. Following their marriage, they lived in Willmar for over 40 years. She worked at Rice Care Center for 35 years and it was said that she was a true angel at her job. She enjoyed gardening flowers, making pies, babysitting her grandchildren and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Gislee; daughters, Carol (and James) Hutson of Galt, CA; Diane (and Gary) Jones of Minneapolis; Sandy (and John) Silitz of Maple Grove; Amy (and Jon) Olander of Roseville and son, Paul Norby of Hinckley and other brothers and sisters. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren,
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Angel Lynn Olander; brother, Bill; sisters, Ema, Jeanette, Anna and parents, Cornelius and Jennie.
She will be sadly missed by all.
