WILLMAR -- Marion Gervais Seifert, 83, of Redwood Falls died Wednesday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar following a battle with cancer.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial in the Clarkfield Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the Redwood County Relay for Life.
She was born June 11, 1925, in Clarkfield to Gerhard and Alma (Heller) Fossen. She was raised in Clarkfield and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1943.
She married Kermit Ness on Dec. 23, 1945, in Clarkfield. They later divorced. She worked as a bookkeeper, first in Minneapolis from 1945 until 1950, and after returning to Clarkfield where she resided for the next 20 years. In 1971, Marion moved to Redwood Falls were she worked as the bookkeeper at ACTIVEAID Inc. until retiring in 1982.
She married Arthur Seifert on Oct. 22, 1982. The couple resided in Redwood Falls and spent their winters in Sun Lakes, Ariz. Arthur died in 1991 and she continued to divide her time between Redwood Falls and Sun Lakes.
She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, its choir and ladies' guild. She also belonged to the Quality Study Club and the Sons of Norway.
She is survived by her stepchildren: Donald Seifert of Los Angeles, Sylvia Seifert and Alice Weeks, both of Mesa, Ariz., and John Seifert of Midland, Mich.; 12 stepgrandchildren; and 21 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters.
