MONTEVIDEO -- Marjorie Sylvia Fandrey, 90, of Montevideo, died Tuesday at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and for one hour before the services at the church.
She was born Aug. 17, 1918, in Yellow Medicine County to Selmer and Mabel (Holtan) Anderson. She attended rural schools and graduated from Granite Falls High School.
She married Edwin Fandrey on Dec. 11, 1938. They farmed in Rosewood Township of Chippewa County. She moved into Montevideo in 1997 and had been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home for the past year. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo and was active in its women's groups and had been a member of a homemakers group.
She is survived by two children: Sharon Byrne of Minnetonka and Curtis (and Mary) Fandrey of Bloomington; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991; son-in-law: Michael Byrne; and two brothers.
