APPLETON -- Marjorie L. Veum, 88, of New Prague, formerly of Appleton, died Monday in New Prague.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Burial will be in the Appleton City Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Arrangements are by Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton.

She was born Aug. 14, 1920, in Appleton to Mike A. and Sena (Kulseth) Westergaard. She graduated from Appleton High School.

She married Alden "Babe" Veum in 1938. They moved from Appleton to Faribault in 1961 and three years later purchased the Menomonie County Club in Menomonie, Wis. After Babe's death in 1970, she continued to operate the golf club until her retirement in 1993. She moved to Mala Strana Health Care Facility in New Prague in 2005.

She is survived by her daughter: Judy (and Stan) Skjei of New Prague; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her sister: Doris Trotter of St. Louis, Mo.

She is preceded in death by her husband; and by a son: Ole A. Veum.
