DANUBE -- Marlin (Marly) Frank Kline, 66, of Danube died Tuesday at his home.
The services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Danube. Burial is in the Morton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was born March 29, 1942, in Beaver Falls Township, Renville County, to Melvin and Maybelle (Oldenburg) Kline. He graduated from Morton High School in 1960. He worked for Dale Jacobson Engineering in Estherville, Iowa.
He married Linda Maron on April 6, 1963, in Aitkin. They moved to several job sites and he went to work for the "Y" Splicing Co. in 1966. He then worked for the Pulaski Telephone Co. in Wisconsin until April 1968 when the family moved to Danube and he managed the Danube Telephone Co. He started farming the family farm at Morton part time in 1980 and then full time in 1982. He retired from farming in 2005 due to ill health. He was a retired Danube fireman and had served on the city council.
He is survived by his wife, three children: Josh (and Karen) Kline of Eden Prairie, Melanie Kline of Minneapolis and Meredith (and Mike) Olson of Montevideo; six grandchildren; his parents of Morton; siblings: Roger (and Elli) of Bakersfield, Calif., and Linda (and Tom) Serbus of Waconia.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
