APPLETON -- Marlys Lydia Schlieman, 84, of Appleton, died Sunday at Appleton Area Health Services.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. Burial will be at the Appleton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was born Oct. 1, 1924, in Holloway to Julius and Anna (Hoerneman) Reich. She graduated from Holloway High School in 1942.
On June 20, 1948, she married Donald Schlieman. She worked for a number of years at Mickey's Café and Bruno's Café in Appleton. Then she was church secretary at Trinity Lutheran Church for more than 30 years. She was active with the church's women's group, guild, Bible study and sang with the senior choir.
She is survived by her husband; three children: Kathi (and Todd) Fink of Louisburg, Mark (and Linda) Schlieman of Madison and Susan Arnold of Alexandria; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings: Marie Zinda of Appleton, Ardis Reich of Hopkins, and Thelma Reynolds of Holloway, Arnold Reich of Hopkins, Warren (and Lois) Reich of Duluth and Allen Reich of Hopkins.
She is preceded in death by two sisters.
