Marta Cristina Klukas

Marta Cristina Klukas, 79, born on February 22, 1935, in Momostenango, Guatemala, passed away on May 31, 2014 after a brief and courageous fight with cancer at the home of her daughter, Diana, in Rancho Cucamonga, California.

For the last 37 years of her life, Marta proudly called Willmar her home. In addition to raising three children, she enjoyed cooking, listening to music, dancing, and visits to Guatemala with her sister Elisa and other family members. Marta had tremendous faith and was a long-term member and volunteer of St. Mary's Church. She was also a devoted community volunteer and over the years helped many families in need. Marta joyfully spoke about her work and the many people, professionals, and families she came to know throughout her career.

Marta was a kind, patient, loving, courageous, forgiving, and generous woman with a hopeful and adventurous spirit. Her radiant smile was a window to her welcoming and caring soul. She was loved and respected by members of her community, friends, and family. Marta will be greatly missed.

Marta was laid to rest at the Forest Lawn-Glendale Memorial Park in Glendale, California on Thursday, June 5, 2014. She leaves behind daughters Sonia and Diana Klukas, son Sergio Klukas (Rudy), six grandchildren, two siblings, and extended family.
