APPLETON -- Martha Hilda Hosum, 85, of Appleton, died Monday at the Madison Hospital.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Burial will be at the Appleton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are by Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton.
She was born Sept. 21, 1923, in Priddy, Texas, to Fritz and Annie (Bufe) Lippe.
She married Gerhardt "Gary" Hosum on March 5, 1948, in Fargo, N.D. She was a homemaker and did bookkeeping for the lumber yard when Gary was managing the business.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and worked with the church sewing projects. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the John Birch Society.
She is survived by her son: Ron Hosum of Appleton; daughter-in-law: Ellen (and Jim) Hopper of Madison Lake; two grandsons; five siblings: Ben (and Lillie) Lippe of Odessa, Texas, Martin (and Elsie) Lippe of Independence, Mo., Lena Teinert of Midland, Texas, Katie Richards of Odessa, Texas, and Ruth (and John) Checkler of Odessa, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 2, 1994; daughter: Janet, on June 17, 2005; three sisters; and two brothers.
