NEW LONDON -- Marvin Lee Huebner, 90, of New London, died Tuesday at the GlenOaks Care Center in New London.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in New London.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Johnson Funeral Home in New London and for one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorials preferred to Peace Lutheran Church.
He was born Nov. 21, 1917, in Windom to William and Sophia (Simonson) Huebner. He was raised in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1937.
He took over his father's road construction business following his father's death in 1938 and owned and operated Huebner Construction Company until 1988.
He married Eunice Skeie on July 2, 1942, in New London. They lived in New London. He was named state Road Contractor of the Year in 1988. He was a member of the Eagles, American Legion and Elks. He was a director of the South Western Contractors Association and a member of the Land Improvement Association. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
He is survived by two daughters: Elizabeth (and Richard) Nelson-Morel and Barbara (and Wayne) Beecroft, all of New London; three grandsons and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and one sister.
