Mary Beth Wacek was born June 10, 1947 in Willmar, MN to Peters and Ursula (Ridl) Wacek. As a child her Grandpa Ridl gave her the nickname "Cookie" which she was known by ever since. She graduated from the Olivia High School in 1965 and attended Mankato State University. She was employed at the U. S. forestry Service in St. Paul from 1970 until retirement in 2002. Cookie spent many years working a second career at Rosedale Hallmark. She was the Chapter President of PSI, a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters, enjoyed reading to children at Chelsea Heights Elementary School, and volunteered with families of victims of homicide through the St. Paul Police Dept. Cookie loved cats, photography, traveling, the MN State Fair, and restoring her 1947 Chrysler. She especially loved her nieces and nephews. Mary Beth had a generous heart and lived life to the fullest. The family would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful, caring staff of the Wellstead of Rogers and North Memorial Hospice.

Mary Beth is survived by her three siblings: Jim (and Carol) Wacek of Rogers, MN, Greg (and Kay) Wacek of Plymouth, and Pat (and Bev) Wacek of Olivia; her nine nieces and nephews: Jim, Kristy, Jerry, Jay, Jason, Jeff, Jenny, Mike and Aimee; and her 10 (almost 11) great-nieces and great-nephews. Mary Beth was preceded in death by her parents.
