LITCHFIELD -- Mary Hazel Wilson, 83, of Litchfield, died Saturday at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Litchfield Christian Church in Litchfield. Arrangements are by the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield.
She was born Dec. 15, 1924, to Neil and Edna (Randall) Rogers in McCook , Neb. She received her education at Oberlin, Kansas, and graduated in 1942. She earned a bachelor's degree from Kansas State University in 1946. She taught high school at McPherson, Kan. for three years. In 1949, she completed the physical therapy technicians program at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She also completed advanced training in physical therapy at New York University-Bellevue Medical Center in 1952.
She married John L. Wilson Jr. on Aug. 2, 1953 in Omaha, Neb. She worked as a physical therapist in Chicago, Dallas, and Omaha for the visiting nurses association taking care of polio patients until 1953.
She was a member of the Litchfield Christian Church, the Physical Therapist Association and had a lifetime teaching license in Kansas.
She is survived by her husband; children: Larry (and Lhea) Wilson of Huxley, Iowa, Lance (and Kim) Wilson of Aurora, Colo., and Brian (and Sharon) Wilson of Litchfield; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
