Mary Jane Wengler-Hubred, 73 of Belgrade, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at her home after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Belgrade. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the church and for one hour prior to the service. Christian Mothers rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Mary Jane Wengler-Hubred was born on Oct 8, 1940, the youngest of seven children to Charles and Margaret (Fuchs) Lieser. She grew up on the family farm near Lake Henry where she attended country grade school and Belgrade High School, graduating in 1958. On April 25, 1960, Mary Jane was united in marriage to Francis "Tuffy" Wengler. To this union two daughters and a son were born. They made their home near Belgrade. Mary Jane and Tuffy were able to share in 26 years of marriage before his death on Nov 6, 1986. She enjoyed her home daycare, which was a true passion for her and each of those children had a special place in her heart. On Nov 20, 2000, Mary Jane was united in marriage to Franklin Hubred. They enjoyed retirement and 13 years of marriage together.
Mary Jane was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church where she served in Christian Mothers. She enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds and wildlife, traveling, embroidering, fishing, and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Hubred; children, Julie (Gabe) Jarnot of Avon, Micki (Kevin) Weller of Belgrade and Tim (Valerie) Wengler of Brookings, SD; step-children, Jennifer Lewis of Eveleth and Benjamin (Lindsay) Hubred of Farmington; 8 grandchildren; Michelle Kral of Yankton, SD, Jessica (Casey) Jansky of Avon, Adam Seifermann of Rice, Amber Seifermann of Holdingford, Jordan Weller of St. Louis Park, Kyle Wengler of Clear Lake, SD, Jason Bobbin (Katie) of Sioux Falls, SD, and Erika Wengler of Clear Lake, SD. 3 step-grandchildren; Tristan, Caelan, and Daisy; 5 great-grandchildren; Jaden, Bryce & Karson Kral and Mylie & Emery Jansky; siblings, Anita Knese, Bernadette (Dick) Haines, Wallace (Teresa) Lieser, and Duane (Rosie) Lieser; and sister-in-law, Catherine Lieser.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her first husband, Francis "Tuffy" Wengler; parents and brothers, LuVerne and Harold Lieser.
