WILLMAR - Mary Jo Stadtherr, age 55 of Willmar died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Mass of Christian burial will be 2:30 PM Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Church of St. Mary, 713 12th St. SW, Willmar. Visitation will be Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 3-5 PM at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home, Willmar and one hour prior to services at church. Arrangements by Harvey Anderson Funeral Home. www.hafh.org

Mary Jo Ann Stadtherr was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota, on April 3, 1958 to Darwin and Viola (Heitkamp) Tompt. When she was 6 years old they moved from Colfax, North Dakota to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1969 the family moved to Willmar, Minnesota. Mary Jo graduated from Willmar High School in 1976. She attended college in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and studied Fashion Merchandising. After college, she traveled Europe for a summer. On January 20, 1984, Mary Jo married Loren Stadtherr in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After moving back to Willmar, she worked at Seeco, Inc. for 32 years. In February of 2011 she started working for Farm Service Elevator.

Mary Jo was a gentle soul and was known for being punctual. She always did what was right and was proud of her political position. Mary Jo was always open for an honest and respectful debate; she respected everyone's opinion equally. She loved playing games and cards, knitting afghans, sweaters and scarves, and watching Fox News. She loved her family deeply and cherished her grandson, C.C. "The Little Guy."

Mary Jo is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Loren; children: Amanda Stadtherr and Joshua Stadtherr; grandson, Chesten Cruz Stadtherr; father, Darwin; siblings: Patricia (Phillip) Wright of Willmar, James (Elaine) Tompt of Shakopee, MN, Teresa Smith of Sioux Falls, SD, John (Rebecca) Tompt of Willmar, Jane (Jeff) Jensen of Willmar, David (Kathy) Tompt of Eden Prairie, MN; father and mother-in-law, Verne and Rose Stadtherr; siblings-in-law: Pat Moore of Willmar, Cathy (Brian) Hunstad of Willmar, Ann (Kent) Rupp of New London, Joe Stadtherr of St. Petersburg, FL, Tom (Sara) Stadtherr of Glenwood, MN, Deb (Mike) Ahlers of Ft. Wayne, IN; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Viola and brothers-in-law, Tim Smith and Larry Moore.
