EDEN PRAIRIE - Matthew W. Jacobsen, age 44, of Eden Prairie, peacefully walked through Heavens doors on Jan. 8, 2014 while his wife, family and friends were by his side. Preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Joan Jacobsen. Matt is survived by his wife, Wendy; his sons Carson, Jake and Jack; brothers, Joe (Lianne) of Knoxville, TN, Chris (Carol) of Pine, CO, James (Colleen) of Pine, CO and Dick (Melissa) of Muscatine, IA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Butch and Mary Kotz of Belgrade, MN; brothers-in-law, Cory (Shari) Kotz of Belgrade, MN and Jason Kotz (fiance Greta) of Richfield, MN; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Matt grew up in Humboldt, Iowa and graduated from high school in 1987 and then received his Engineering degree from Iowa State University in 1992. Matt had an entrepreneurial spirit owning numerous businesses, with his final legacy of Midwest Mechanical Solutions. Matt had a generous spirit and soft soul. He was very passionate about youth activities. A devoted husband and wonderful father, Matts greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Matt was an active member of his church as part of the IHM Mens Club. Matt built many friendships throughout his life. He was an extraordinary husband, father and friend. 1340, Minnetonka, MN 55345. Visitation was Monday, Jan. 13 from 4-8 p.m. at Washburn-McReavy in Eden Prairie. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 13505 Excelsior Blvd., Minnetonka, MN.
