RAYMOND -- Max Robert Otto Kienitz, 85, of Raymond died Sunday at the Infinia Care Center in Willmar.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Raymond.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

He was born Feb. 21, 1922, in Edwards Township, Kandiyohi County, to John and Emma (Mielke) Kienitz. He grew up in the Raymond area where he attended country school at District 74 and graduated in 1940 from Raymond High School.

He worked on the family farm and later took over the farming business. He also raised Arabian horses.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Raymond, where he was president of the church and also served on the cemetery board. He was a founding member of the Amigo Saddle Club and worked with Arabian horse shows throughout the United States, calling pedigrees.

He is survived by his brother, Alfred of Emmett, Idaho, and a sister, Helen Wrase of Windom.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
