Meeker County Sheriff seeking information on vehicle, snowmobile thefts
LITCHFIELD — A 29-year-old Annandale man is in custody for stealing several vehicles in Meeker and Wright counties and the Meeker County Sheriff is asking citizens with any information regarding the thefts to report the information to the Sheriff’s Office at 320-693-5400.
According to Sheriff Jeff Norlin, Jeremy David Munson was arrested Saturday and allegedly confessed Monday to stealing a snowmobile and a car. The investigations are ongoing. Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous and report at tip is asked to call 1-800-222-TIPS (8744), or you can text a tip to “TIP674 plus your message” to CRIMES (274637).
On Feb. 19, a 2005 Polaris 550 snowmobile was reported stolen from along 645th Avenue, just north of Forest City.
On the same date, a 2008 Acura car was reported stolen from Kingston Auto Sales in Dassel. The car was later recovered just south of Annandale.
On Wednesday, a 1999 Ford Econoline van, with “Larry’s Plumbing” marked on the side, was stolen from along 648th Avenue in Forest City. The van was full of plumbing equipment and tools and was taken from an address about 1 mile from the address where the snowmobile was stolen. The van was later recovered in St. Cloud.
On Friday, investigators from both counties issued an arrest warrant for Munson for the possession of the stolen 2008 Acura.
On Saturday, Munson was believed to be involved in a police pursuit on the stolen snowmobile just south of Clearwater in Wright County. He was later arrested on the probable cause arrest order and other charges stemming from the Wright County incident.
