Meeker Sheriff investigating graffiti at Watkins School

WAKTINS -- The Meeker County Sheriff's Office is investigating a spate of graffiti damage in Watkins, including damage to playground equipment and the Watkins Elementary School building.

According to a news release from the sheriff's office, the property damage report was made around 9:30 p.m. Monday. Spray-paint damage was found on various playground equipment, the building and other locations around the city, including a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Western Avenue South, as well as a stop sign, fire hydrant, and retaining wall in the area of Meeker Avenue and First Street.

The damage appears to have occurred between 7 and 9 p.m. Sunday. Several juvenile suspects have allegedly admitted involvement. The case will be referred to the Meeker County Attorney's Office for appropriate charges.
