Willmar City Council to meet Monday
WILLMAR — The Willmar City Council will receive a presentation on parliamentary procedures from Scott Thaden during a work session at 6 p.m. Monday in the chambers of the Municipal Utilities Building, 700 Litchfield Ave. S.W.
The council will then meet in regular session at 7 p.m. The council will take comments from the public during the open forum and will receive a presentation on the downtown plan from Design Center consultant Adam Arvidson.
The council will receive a presentation on the Open Meeting Law and Conflict of Interest Policy from City Attorney Robert Scott.
Also, the council will consider setting a date for a public hearing to change the zoning of old airport land in the new industrial park from government/institutional to limited industry and general industry. The zoning change will allow industrial construction to proceed on the land.
Kandiyohi County Commissioners to meet Tuesday
WILLMAR — The Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners will hear a report Tuesday on the Central Minnesota Jobs and Training program.
Barb Chaffee, chief executive officer of the 11-county program, will make the presentation at 10 a.m. during the commissioners’ regular board meeting.
Other items on the agenda include the appointment of the Middle Fork Crow River Watershed district manager, a resolution to proceed with eminent domain for a highway project on County Road 4 and action on conditional use permits and household hazardous waste contracts.
Board Chairman Harlan Madsen will present information on broadband GPS use and County Administrator Larry Kleindl will provide an update on the Vision 2040 project, an effort to organize community stakeholders for a long-term planning discussion among government, business and citizens.
Prior to the regular board meeting, the commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. as the Human Services Committee, when they are expected to hear an update on committees that are working on internal administrative changes that will affect how the family services, public health and community corrections departments work together.
The meetings take place in the commissioners’ board room located on the second floor of the Health and Human Services Building at 2200 23rd St. N.W. in Willmar.
