Sheriff's office investigating Zorbaz robbery as false report

Meeting on water quality is today in Willmar

WILLMAR — A statewide plan to reduce the nutrients reaching Minnesota’s waters will be outlined in an open house meeting from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Kandiyohi County Health and Human Services Building.

The draft strategy developed by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is also open for public review and comment through Dec. 18, on the web at: www.pca.state.mn.us/nutrientreduction.

The statewide plan aims to get various agencies and groups working together to increase current efforts to reduce nutrients in Minnesota waters and those downstream of Minnesota.

The initial targets are a 35 percent reduction in phosphorus and 20 percent reduction in nitrogen by 2025 in the Mississippi River basin. The long-term goal is a 45 percent reduction.
