GRANITE FALLS -- Melvin Linus Reinhart, 86, of Granite Falls died Tuesday at home.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Granite Falls.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls with a prayer service at 7:30 and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was born April 27, 1922, in Carroll, Iowa, to Albert and Louise (Schultes) Reinhart. He graduated from high school in Carroll in 1940. He worked on the family farm.
He married Frances Riordan on Jan. 14, 1947, in Boone, Iowa. They farmed near Breda, Iowa, until 1976 when they moved to Carroll, Iowa, where he sold Federal Crop Insurance. In 1983, they moved to Granite Falls and he worked in automotive inventory management at Kollen Motors until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the Granite Falls Country Club and served as a board member on the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery Board.
He is survived by his wife; children: Tom (and Becky) Reinhart of Panora, Iowa, Dave (and Margaret) Reinhart of Guthrie Center, Iowa, Don (and Rhonda) Reinhart of Guthrie Center, Iowa, Diane (and Ron) Fagen of Granite Falls and Mary (and Dick) Kollen of Granite Falls; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sisters: Lois (and Vernon) Boes of Minnetonka and Jean (and Urban) Knobbe of Carroll, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
