Men's basketball: Ridgewater rallies to beat Rainy River

BRAINERD — It was a tale of two halves for Ridgewater, as the Warriors overcame a nine-point halftime deficit to beat Rainy River 80-71 on Saturday at the Central Lakes Tournament in Brainerd.
“The first half (Rainy River) shot the ball really well and got a lead on us,” Ridgewater head coach Bob Knutson said. “Then we were able to get together and play a great second half. The players really played well … they did a nice job playing from behind.”
Down by as much as 15, the Warriors outscored the Voyageurs 48-30 in the second half.
Terrance Lockett led Ridgewater with 21 points.
Neil Helgeson scored 13 points, had 5 assists and 4 steals, and Jake Rambow tacked on 9 points and 6 rebounds.
The Warriors are off until Jan. 4 when they travel to Grand Rapids for the Itasca Invite.
