Men's basketball: Ridgewater tops Blue Devils

OWATONNA — The Ridgewater men’s basketball team remained in the thick of the MCAC Southern Division playoff race after a key road win Wednesday.

Zak Pendleton scored 20 points and Terrance Lockett finished with 16 to lead the Warriors over Riverland 74-62.

Ridgewater and Riverland are now tied with 5-6 division records. They are among four teams fighting for two of the division’s four playoff spots with three regular-season games remaining.

The Warriors’ Neil Helgeson scored 12 points and Beau Herrig recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Melvin Kromah finished with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Warriors will have to contend without regular Jake Rambow, who suffered an injured hand in practice on Tuesday and is out for the season.

Andrew Lau led Riverland with 12 points and Goliath Oboyo had  8 points and 8 rebounds. Marcus Ratliff had 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals.

The Warriors play next at home against Western Wisconsin Tech at 3 p.m. Saturday.
