Men's basketball: Rochester rocks Ridgewater

ROCHESTER — One of the top teams in the MCAC was in top form Saturday and the Ridgewater Warriors were the unfortunate victims.
Rochester dominated on offense and defense, building a 31-point lead by halftime and eventually doubling-up the Warriors, 90-45.
“I knew it was coming,” said Warriors head coach Bob Knutson. “I watched enough game film and I told our guys, ‘You’re going to play the best team in the state.’ They are so quick and their ball pressure is constant. They’re talented and they play the game the right way.”
The Warriors did a good job holding down some of Rochester’s top scorers but seven players scored between 9 and 14 points and they forced 23 Ridgewater turnovers and finished with 18 steals.
“We did some good things but they’re so athletic,” Knutson said. “A fan came down from the stands and said (of Rochester), ‘They’re in the wrong league.’ I honestly think this is Rochester’s best team.”
Terrance Lockett led the Warriors with 15 points and Neil Helgeson had 8. Beau Herrig scored 5 points and led Ridgewater with 11 rebounds.
The Warriors play next at Minnesota West in Worthington on Wednesday.
